A bright red 2023 Ford Ranger near Lancaster, OH

The Ranger is an outstanding all-around compact pickup with impressive hauling and towing abilities, great fuel economy, and a rugged powertrain. Check out the three trims of the 2023 Ford Ranger to see which one best meets your new truck needs.

Ranger XL

Every Ranger comes with a turbo-four that gets 270 hp. It has a ten-speed automatic and your choice of rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. The 2023 Ranger can tow up to a best-in-class 7,500 pounds and haul up to 1,950 pounds. It’s available with seating for either four or five, depending on whether you select the SuperCab or SuperCrew body style. Both come with a 5-foot bed, but there is an optional 6-foot version with the SuperCab.

The base model of the Ranger has a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, and a USB port. It’s also equipped with a four-speaker stereo and a 3.5-inch infotainment display. Standard driver assistance features include pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and a rearview camera. You can add the 101A Equipment Group to this trim to get the SYNC infotainment system, a six-speaker stereo, and cruise control.

Ranger XLT

This Ranger trim comes with an 8-inch touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has 17-inch wheels, cruise control, fog lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and remote keyless entry. The XLT also upgrades the truck’s tech with its six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, and an extra USB port. You can add the 301A Equipment Group for a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 110-volt power outlet, and two USB ports.

Elevating to this trim level ushers in an array of enhanced driver assistance features. You’ll get rear-cross traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, and automatic high beams. If you want to customize the XLT even further, consider the 302A Equipment Group for all the 301A features as well as a sliding rear window, remote start, and power windows. The Tech package adds front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and navigation.

Ranger Lariat

The top-tier Ranger trim features heated and power-adjustable front seats, along with leather upholstery and ambient interior lighting. It also adds rear parking sensors, 18-inch wheels, push-button start, a household-style power outlet, and two extra USB ports. The 501A Equipment Group includes the Tech package plus a 10-speaker premium stereo, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a universal garage opener, HD radio, and remote start.

If you get the SuperCrew version of the Lariat, consider the unique Splash Jungle Edition equipment bundle. New for 2023, it has a distinctive black mesh grill and Eruption Green Metallic exterior paint.
